Christiaan "Chris" Houthuyzen
HOUTHUYZEN, Christiaan “Chris” - Went into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, July 8th, 2018 at the Woodstock Hospital in his 85th year just in time to be the organist in heaven. Chris immigrated from Holland in 1958 with his beautiful bride to fulfill his life calling as a craftsman of the great pipe organ. He founded the Principal Pipe Organ Company in Woodstock, Ontario and many of his precious organs give testament to his passion all over Ontario. Chris served as organist to many churches. His music will forever be in our hearts and souls. He also spent many years installing carillons and clock towers, for the Verdin company. His great pride was the restoration and servicing of the carillon in the Peace Tower in Ottawa. Chris’s work will continue to bless generations to come. Loving husband and best friend of Anne Houthuyzen (nee Rietkerk) for nearly 61 years. Cherished father of Conny Masson (Harvey), Ernie Houthuyzen (Joanne) Tim Houthuyzen, Stephanie Allen (Andrew), and Anne-Monique “Nicki” Howe (Jim). Beloved grandfather of Joshua (Denise), Tiffany (Darren), Cody (Rachelle), Christine, Erin (Steve), Jonathan (Stacey), Annette, David (Melanie), Ben, Alexis, Noah, Sophie, Kelsey and Emma.
